Many formal events, especially those attended by The Royal Family, do require formal dress. On almost every occasion, it will be black morning dress that is worn, with striped trousers and either a dove grey or buff waistcoat, all available to hire and buy at Bartlett & Butcher. This is traditional and enables officials to be recognized amongst the rest of the congregation. We are regularly asked, sometimes at very short notice, to have a client's outfit ready as he might be standing in for somebody taken ill, so it's important that regular customers keep us informed with regard to size and come in to be refitted. Whenever possible we will supply the same garments as the previous function - a perfect fit is our specialty and possible as every garment is uniquely coded.
Princes Ann presides over several naval charities and it is our pleasure to dress the members attending with the correct attire.
This is an example of an occasion upon which the dignitaries and officials escorting the Queen will wear Morning Dress and because it is in a different location each year you may well be invited from your area. If so we at Bartlett & Butcher can have your outfit ready to hire in minutes.
Armistice Day in November each year (Poppy Day), held at the Cenotaph in London and all cathedrals throughout the country will require certain officials and dignitaries in black morning dress. The majority of the congregation will be wearing suits available to hire or buy from Bartlett & Butcher, some will be wearing a blazer and grey flannel trousers, also available to buy at Bartlett & Butcher, and many will be wearing military uniform. Nevertheless, if you are asked to take on an official duty you could be required to wear morning dress.
